My Past!MOTIVATION MONDAYS
As we all know the past year has been very chaotic and very depressing, and sometimes a happy quote or nice gesture can go a long way. At the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year I began posting weekly Motivation Mondays on the Instagram story of @tracyhighbulldogs2021. In hopes that these quotes would speak out to people to keep them motivated and raise their spirits. Little pieces of encouragement can go a long ways and this is just something super small that I haver personally taken on to give people an understanding that everything is okay and we will all make it through these challenging times. If you would like to view the weekly Motivation Mondays follow the Instagram above to receive your weekly words of encouragement. SENIOR PROJECT
Over the past year I have completed my Ag/Sci Senior Project, which included collecting feminine hygiene products and donating them to the McHenry House and the Chest for Hope. I originally started planning my project last March, and figuring out what I wanted to do, I wanted to spread awareness about ovarian cancer and help prevent women from developing ovarian cancer. The way that I accomplished that was by collecting feminine hygiene products throughout the month of September. Unsanitary feminine hygiene products have been linked to causing ovarian cancer later on in life, and by collecting these products I was able to supply women with safe and sanitary options. Also, because my project was solely focused on the month of September I was able to bring to light the fact that September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. I ended up collecting over $2000 worth of monetary donations and product donations. With those donations I divided them up evenly and gave them to the McHenry House and the Chest for Hope, along with brochures about Ovarian Cancer and that provided information about risks, development and ways to donate. |
